Has anyone seen this CI application called Webber - http://www.drsoft.com/ ?  It looks amazing. The developer has done a great job with it.  It’s base product is a membership manager, newsletter manager, and a lite ecommerce engine. I could see it being an alternative to the aMember product. But they also have a blog module (for $29.00). The online demo of their blog product looks really nice.

Not trying to create a Parent/offspring battle between EE and Webber, but I can see it also being a real alternative to EECore - maybe the personal license also. Of course it’s lacking the time, plugins, and community that makes EE really special. But for a simple website, it could be nice.

I really thought about this product’s potential this morning and for someone with LOTs of sites, (like fansites with advertising) it could be nice. But for developers/web teams that need a solid supported product with a good track record for their business clients, I would probably stay with EE (to me $250 for a commercial product is an EXCELLENT priced product). But… this product has a shot if the developer is serious. But…again..I think that EE 2.0 with CI integration could be the product that destroys all others—especially if someone can get ecommerce right.

Take a look and express your thoughts.
