    Hi

I am a complete novice when it comes to creating web sites HTML ect, used to be able to format wordstar doc’s back in the 80’s (yes i’m that old) so some of it seems very similar.

Have purchased a 30 day trial to see if I’m up to setting up a very basic website to post photos and a categorised the constuction log (blog?) of my build process of a small aircraft over the next few years.

Have followed the EE guides and the tutes and worked my way through them, also had a play with the galley tempate and had managed to upload 5 photos in a couple of categories last night. I (re)installed another theme to see how it looked (after deleting the prev. one - I think this is where I stuffed up) and didn’t get the gallery setup back.

I was going to have a go at up loading the gallery templates from:

    http://expressionengine.com/templates/source/category/gallery/

but frankly if it’s an easy fix for you guys my time is better spent (at this point) learning (or try to) how do the other stuff.

Can you pls reset back to the start, (no biggie for any of the data) and I will have another go (being more carefull)

Hi, Peter, welcome to the forums!

In your demo email you received a link to the install file.  You can visit that and re-install.  Please note that this will wipe all of your data and give you a 100% clean start.  There is no undo button. =)

    Hi Lisa

Very fast reply indeed!  Many thanks.

I did that twice (before I posted) with different templates and still no joy on getting the gallery back up.

Also tried removing all the image entries categories etc I had uploaded, setting them up again and loading the images again no joy.

What is happening when you visit the gallery, then? Also, have you tried simply creating a new gallery?

    Hi Lisa

Again exceptional turn around time for what must be the middle of the night for your side of the world.

What was happening when I visited the gallery was it when back to “default site weblog” page. I think the Url said gallery name:

    http://demo.expressionengine.com/USylUrUHYF/index.php/Oshkosh2007/

However the page that came up (even after refresh / reload etc) was the defualt weblog page.

Subsequent to my last post I did another reinstall and used the same theme (Alex Blue) as the first time round, and went through the gallery creation process yet again.

    All is now good!

I think where I went wrong in the first two tries was in the step to define the path to the image galleries. I did not (may not?) use the demo path “gallery_images/” but rather may have typed the gallery name.

Anyway I’m back on track now and ready to keep learning, many thanks for your very prompt responses.

    All the best from Oz.
