Hm. OK- I’d seriously like to get you on 1.6.4 before poking too much harder. But I generally don’t take those on now. Are you up for us walking you through it? I don’t recall any hacked files, things like that. Should be relatively easy. I’d just like to get fresh files in place- but since you’re a version back, need to run the upgrade to do that. Or we’re likely to bork things up.

I hate doing upgrades, and have avoided upgrading EE for the last couple of years! I’d much rather hire someone else…
Having said that, I’ll give it a go if you’d prefer that.

Mark, before we do any further troubleshooting, can you open up Admin -> Utilities -> PHP Info and do a find in file for display_errors and let us know what that is set to?
Also, do you have access to server error logs? A blank white page indicates a suppressed PHP error, sometimes those errors get redirected to those error logs, so would be good to check there.

display_errors is set to on / on.
Nothing shows up in cPanel’s error logs (I’ve caused the error to happen and checked the logs straight after), but as detailed above, my webhost managed to find out some details about the issue.

That information the host sent through is not really very helpful; what we need are the PHP error logs. Were you able to check the database server for any error logs?
If you wish to get help with the upgrade process, your best option would be to post a job ad or contact some folks on the Pro Network for assistance. 1.6.4 is a recommended security update so I’d highly recommend moving forward with that posthaste.

Hi Lisa,
My webhost checked the logs for the database server first, but nothing showed up, which is why they then extracted that info instead.

Ok, I would have expected them to be more on the file server - where the PHP files are sent from, anyway. Do check your email again. =)
