Even when I search with my article title, it doesn’t show up in google. Is that common?

I have all my articles indexed in google though. I have bought the utility which lets you add titles to your article. Some articles now have the article title but some still has the same name in google.

    Could that be a problem?

    Thanks!

Did you add the titles recently, or have they been there for awhile?

If you recently added them, Google will have to re-crawl your pages before the new titles show up in the serps.

    Thanks for the reply.

I added them like 3 weeks back and Google crawled it.Some of the pages now show the title when I look for the index pages while some don’t which seems to be really odd.

The ones which happened to show, when I type that title in google serach, it doesn’t show up in the search. I am assuming most of urs article title if typed in google search should show up in the search in atleast the the first 10 pages.Am I wrong?

My hits from search engines is like 5-6% which I think is really low. I just started the site like 3 months back.

Can you post a link to one of the pages you’re seeing this happen with?

Some of them which did not show up yesterday showed up today wth theiir tile page indexed in google. So I am thinking over time it will show up.It seems to do it just randomly

Here is my main question: For example, “One A Day Weight Smart Supplement: Does It Work?”. This one is my recent article. It is indexed in google with the page title. But when I search the title in google, it doesnt show up. Why is that?

Here is the link for the article: http://www.exercisebiology.com/index.php/site/articles/one_a_day_weight_smart_supplement_does_it_work_for_weight_loss/

    Thanks!!

If you serach for “One A Day Weight Smart Supplement: Does It Work?” (with the quotes) it does show up. At least your starting page.

When you search without the quotes others just rank better than you for that combination of keywords.

    Thanks a lot.

No wonder. Why do you think my search hits are so low? when I had a blog in wordpress I used to get more serach hits which was only like 2 months old. I am hoping the article title and meta descriptions should help.

I had one more question. I used to get 30-35 unique vsitirs and all of a sudden I am getting 350-500 a day. I am thinking it’s a bot. So when people say they get 50,o00 unique vistors how do they know it is not mostly bots?

Bots don’t normally execute javascript, and analytics tools like Google Analytics use a javascript snippet in the page source. You shouldn’t see any bot traffic in your analytics tools.

I have a couple suggestions for you:

    1. Try reworking page titles so they’re more natural (ie: a phrase someone might actually search for). For instance, you could rewrite the one you provided as: Do Weight Smart Supplements Work?

    2. Repeat the keywords more often in your copy. Here, the word “supplements” is used only twice on your page aside from the title. “Weight Smart” is used only once. At a quick glance I see probably ten other opportunities to easily use the words without seeming spammy. For instance, change “Claim 1” to “Weight Smart Supplement Claim 1.”

The weight loss/nutrition niche is insanely competitive and difficult to break into, given the amount of money to be made in that field. I suspect that is why you’re seeing few results from search engines.

What was your Wordpress blog about?

    Thanks I will try Analytics.

Thanks a lot. Great Suggestions. I will implement it.

What was your Wordpress blog about?

It was about fitness and had the same articles and was only a few months old but I used to get a lot more search engine hits (twice more).
