    Good Morning Everyone:

I have a simple questions, but requires a complex answer.  I have a client who has requested we develop a site for him that entails a similar layout as iStock.com with the possibility load and sell multiply resolutions of photos.

One requirement that he has asked for is that we are completely separated from iStock.

Please let me know your suggestions.

    Thanks,

sorry… just to get this right… your client is wanting to create a stock library like istock, that is not istock?
I assume therefore you mean the ability for artists to sell stock, and people to buy them at varying sizes… principles of accounts, payments, searching, etc. to be as standard in this industry?

Are they intending to do this on the same scale as istock? multiple millions of images? or is this meant to be just for their own stock images so 1000’s of images for sale as opposed to istocks 1000000’s ???

How will your clients site be differentiated from istock or one of the many other stock libraries out there struggling for market share??? Even one of the higher end agencies (getty, etc)

    http://www.fotosearch.com
    http://www.stockxpert.com
    http://www.everystockphoto.com
    http://www.photos.com

These are just some of the stock libraries out there… This is a crazily competitive industry!
And if your client wants to sell their own stock, why would someone search for an option within a few pictures and not from the millions of options in just one of the above stock sites…

sorry… anyway… what are you trying to find out?
