Does the ExpressionEngine Wiki include some sort of disambiguation feature, ala Wikipedia? I’ve poked around, but found nothing.

I’m not familiar with that feature in Wikipedia. Could you describe a bit more what you’re after, perhaps?

    Hi, Lisa.

Disambiguation resolves conflicts between titles. Say you have an entry “Mountain Name” for the name of a certain mountain. But you wish to have an entry called “Mountain Name” for a certain hotel. The disambiguation process (pages/links) helps a reader determine which entry is the one he/she is searching for.

    Wikipedia’s explanation is here.

Seems like it could be done manually in the EE Wiki, but sorting it out and then showing several non-techy users how to achieve it could be bothersome, if not downright unsuccessful.  😛 Just thought that if some built-in system existed it would sure ease things along.

Barring that, we’ll just to reach a new naming convention in the Wiki, I suppose. Which might be a better idea in the end.

A title can only exist once though, and influences the URL.  Perhaps namespaces would help you out here?

I see wikipedia’s explanation, but I’m still a bit confused.  That said, it sounds like a neat feature so a request may be your best option here.  There is not a built in method for this. =)

Hmm. Gonna have to give thought to this one. I’ll take a look at the namespaces, but as yet I haven’t wrapped my head completely around that. 😊

Yeah, I know the feeling. I wouldn’t want to throw my users into a Wikipedia-like situation with it (Wikipedia use can be really complex); hence me wondering if there was some automated way.

    Will do. Thanks, Lisa!
