    Hi,

I am so forgetful and I am now struggling to give users access to some modules in the admin. The problem is that I do not see ‘New tab’ even though I selected the right stuff the user is able to access. This of course happens when I have logged in as that user. What am I missing here?

You could try LG Add CP Tabs!

Marks you don’t perhaps mean the New Tab link which should be at the top right hand side of the admin panel do you?

That of course would only work for one user at a time though so something like Leevi’s system would work best depending on what you want to do of course.

    Best wishes,

    Hi Marks,

I was actually referring to the New Link that displays at the top right corner. I did log in as a user, but the link does not show. I have attached the screenshot of what I am referring to. Thanks to you Levi for your response. I’ll look into the stuff you have just pointed out.

    Hiya,

I think that may be because you have limited the user to only being able to Publish and Edit but the New Tab link is more for links to modules and the like. I could be wrong as I must say I have never seen it not there before but then I have never had a user that has had as little an amount of privileges as that before either 😉

If I were to hazard a guess though that would be it because the user has no access to modules and other sections then there isn’t really anything left to link to.

    I could be wrong though.

    Best wishes,

Thanks man I still have to check what you are saying. But something is telling me you are correct. Thanks man.

Well I could be wrong, it’s definitely happened before 😉

Sorry but have never had a user with as little privileges as that and unfortunately so far today haven’t had the chance to check that theory out but that would be my guess.

Just to make sure it’s not something else, you don’t have any extensions installed that have any operation over the admin panel do you? That would be my only other guess.

    Best wishes,

Actually I think now that I might be wrong on this one. I just set up a member group with hardly any access privileges to anything but to Publish and Edit and pretty much nothing else. I got almost the same as you did but I still have the New Tab link and also have the My Account tab which it looks like you don’t have.

I think there might be something else going on here. Do you have any extensions installed that might be causing this perhaps?

Interested to find out what this is now 😉

    Best wishes,

    Mark
