I would expect that since 65-70% of clients are likely to be using IE.
I test everything at least two browser generations back. So from IE6+, FF2.0+, Opera 9+, and Safari 2+...
Then one day I had to explain to a client why the site didn’t display right in their FF1.0. Not a common problem, but I really wish all web browsers had an expire date where they would force an update, or at least nag the user every open when the software hits about two or three years old. I wonder how this will change when HTML5 and CSS3 mature…
Anyway, I would say that 80%+ of my clients use IE6 or 7, so that should at least be functional.
Anyone have news from the EE Roadshow? I have a new site being built 100% in CodeIgniter at the moment (a free RPG system) that I want to use EE2 for several key features (forum, wiki, etc.). I’ve been drooling all over the site and waiting for some sort of progress report as I really don’t feel like hand coding a wiki and forum (not to mention the pretty AJAX backend).
If any of you Ellis Labs guys are gamers I’ll buy EE now and trade full color perfect bound copies of the game for a chance to beta test 2.0 😉 I’m getting close to my publishing date and I seriously don’t want to try to integrate another BB / Wiki software….
