Hmmm, what does dynamic=off mean in this context?

It’s the solution to a common problem for people new to EE. If you are trying to display weblog entries in, for example, a sidebar on a single entry page, EE keys off the URL and unless you have dynamic=“off” set, the sidebar entries will not display.

this is great, very nice of Ryan to do 😊

for the 12 people that can’t get in, will there be a log posted of the questions and answers?

I would like to do something like this but need to consider a few things first (like whether to remove names). Maybe, at the very least, I can publish an overview of questions asked.

Also, just for general information, the limit on participants is mostly there to try and get a sense on how the chat will work. My feeling right now is that if too many people are chatting at one time (IRC, anyone?), it becomes difficult to help anyone at all.

    Yeah, that is understandable.

In IRC though, there are ways to make it work without everyone chatting at once, for example people can PM you a question and you could post it in the channel. Than answer yourself while only mods that you choose can chat.

I am sure there are many other ways to do it in IRC though 😛

How’s chat Wednesday’s been going then? curious if there was enough interest the first week to bring back some people who couldn’t get in. This would be what the third week if it’s still on?
    peace.

Hey T.Gee., thanks for the message.

I should’ve posted updates here, but didn’t want to spam everyone. The chat has been going great and last week there was room for more people, so please join us tonight! I plan to continue the chat every Wednesday at the same time (9 PM Eastern, GMT -4).

Thanks Ryan, hey while your here, I noticed you mentioned writing a book in the pragmatic forums, I don’t think you were involved with the current book that was was a giveaway here in the EE forums, maybe a forthcoming Pragmatic title then?
    thanks.

I wasn’t involved with the EE 1.6 book, but, you’re right, I am writing an upcoming book on EE with Pragmatic.

I was thinking about purchasing your screencasts tonight but I was curious if you’re going to make some for 2.0? If so I will wait until then. Any thoughts as to recording more for 2.0?
