Am I missing the documentation for all the specific tags for the member and forum template tags or are there just not any?  I find it very annoying that they all use a different template engine and it seems the Member and Forum templates can’t use tags that I could use in the sites templates such as {site_url}.

This could entirely be my newness and me missing something, and I hope so.  If so or if not, can someone point me in some direction?

There is not a complete tag list for those two modules; the reason is that the tags that you see in use are the ones that can be used.  Those two particular template sets use a much leaner template parser.

For the Discussion Forum, you can run that through the main template engine using {exp:forum}, which will let you use all the tags you’re used to.
