Like the title of this post. I wonder if this is possible? I can’t see nothing inside the module where my client should can reorder his images…

Maybe an extreme solution can work: let the client enter a number in a custom field and let the orderby-parameter order on that field. But I didn’t see in the DOCS if a custom field is possible to order on…

Hm- no, not spotting custom fields as an order by option.  Could go with any of the others- entry date would be good as the backend would reflect the frontend order.  But- that’s not good if you want to display the try entry date- or if it’s important in some way.  Which I suspect it probably is.

There are some plugin that might help (Reorder comes to mind)- but they’d only affect a single page.  Not the overall order if it’s multi-page, which I suspect it is.

I think this is a case for a feature request unless there’s a third party application I’m not aware of.

I don’t know of such a way for the gallery; there are solutions for the weblog module. Did you want me to move this to How To for more exploration?

Anyone know where I might find this “Reorder” plugin mentioned above?  Sounds like it might be exactly what I’m in need of.

Otherwise I’ll register a second request for either a nice way of sorting image order (drag and drop in the system?) or at least a sort by custom field option.

MetaPaing - REEorder - this works great, but I don’t believe it works with the gallery module. If you move to using weblogs to power your gallery then REEorder will probably be perfect for you.
