    Regarding Derek’s post: http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/38248/#177565

I followed the instructions in the docs, setup my keys, setup the IPN, retrieved the ID and key from PayPal (just using the sandbox at this point) and all seems fine, until I try what I think any good web citizen might do and choose the Encrypt Payments Only option on PayPal’s side, which doesn’t go as planned, as it prompts me to setup the PayPal encrypted buttons during checkout.  I could do this, although, I would have to go into the Merchant Services and create buttons for each item, unless I’m understanding this wrong?

For those that use SCM, do you encrypt your buttons, or does it just depend?  Are we less secure if we choose not to encrypt the PayPal buttons?  If we don’t encrypt, then are we still making use of the public/private keys?

    Thanks for your help.

    Best Regards,
    Andres
