I saw this article the other day on a new MySQL gui for the mac that is supposed to blow away CocoaMySQL, and i can’t find it anywhere now! I just got my new MacBook Pro and was waiting to install the new app until i got it, and now i can’t figure out what it was.

Does anyone know what i’m talkin about? It looked DAMN good.

    Hi Jack,

Don’t know which one you may have seen as there are many but have you now seen that CocoaMySQL has now been renamed as Sequel Pro and is in the Google Code Project.

Looks really nice and really stable as far as I can tell.

    Sequel Pro

As I said before though not too sure which one you are referring to as I know of around 20 such apps for this kind of thing. I really do like Sequel Pro though as it is just neat in design and so doesn’t get in the way of my workflow.

    Best wishes,

    Mark

You my friend, are the MAN. That’s EXACTLY what i was looking for. I couldn’t find it anywhere in my history or RSS feeds or anything, which makes me wonder where exactly i cam across it. Probably all the Chrome stuff i’ve been reading.

    Anyway, thanks a million!

No problem at all. Not too sure where I saw it either now 😉 We must haunt the same feeds and sites I guess!! 😊

Loved CocoaMySQL. Tried half a dozen others and finally settled on the quirky but continuously updated Navicat.

    Trying SQL Pro now.

I’ve been using Navicat for Mac OS X & Ubuntu for a while now, and have no complaints.  😊

I dig the good ol’ phpmyadmin. Simple quick and you can make updates from anywhere.

Well I like to read minds wherever I can. I’m also a bit of an amateur magician too. Doesn’t usually work so well over a forum but in this case - perfect!! 😉

    Best wishes,

I’m with you except I don’t really like it’s aesthetics.  So, I prefer SQLBuddy.

Okay so after trying Sequel Pro, i found it to be lacking in a number of features i was comfortable with in CocoaMySql, such as adding/editing users and such. I do keep phpmyadmin on for when i need to remote, but while i’m on my dev machine, cocoamysql still does the trick for me. Thanks for the discussion!
