    Dear EE’ers,

It’s been a while! Just moved across the world and am in Hong Kong as I write this.. I haven’t had time to work on my EE stuff for a while, as I’ve been quite busy with work and moving and such.. But my stuff is on its way here and hopefully, can work on stuff again sooner rather than later.

Well, anyway, I have a store launching up.. A small side-business and am looking at a very simple script w/ PayPal checkout, and member functionality to check on orders shipping statuses, etc.

Was wondering what you guys thought would be best, etc. that would allow me to take advantage of templates, etc.? There won’t be much categories, maybe 2-3 and dewfinitely under 15 products, with expansion possibly up to 20-25 at its peak.

Any recommendations is appreciated. I haven’t looked into e-commerce for EE too deeply, since I’ve been contemplating going with Magento for a while and actually was almost completely done a store in it.. But I decided EE - for it’s simpicity and ease of use would be better suited for me in the long run.

    Cheers,
    Danny

Well, with a simple setup like that, PayPal only—why not give the Simple Commerce Module a chance?

    Ingmar,

Thanks for the suggestion. I’ve never used Simple Commerce - but based on what I see in the documentation and modules page, it seems that customers will not be able to view past orders in their accounts? Please don’t hesitate to correct me if I’m wrong, because if Simple Commerce offers that - then this module will suffice.

It is true that there is currently no easy way to show the purchase history for a member via the CP, but EE stores all these purchases, and it should be easy to provide that data via a custom template of sorts (or, if it needs to be in the CP, an extension.)

I am currently working on exactly the same thing, with a few additions.
Would you want to collaborate on a solution?
