Just realized I have one feature request here - ability to choose a license for upgrading from personal to commercial - currently there’s no option to select which license gets upgraded.

Perhaps there should be a facility to choose which gets upgraded and when it is upgraded, the previous licence is destroyed but the expiry date remains the same?

I have a personal licence that I don’t really want sitting around.

Superb thanks! Now I just have to find those sites 😊

That’s not a bad idea, Kurt… Ironically, though I ended up killing the “website” field since it seemed to cause some confusion as to whether the license is for that particular domain.  A lot of people were making that mistake.  Let me give this some thought…

Hmmm, how about just adding a simple text field in addition to the Notes? You don’t have to call it anything specific but it would at least show in the licences list an be available if needed?

Love the changes.  However, I just ordered a new license today and the email sent as a receipt for the purchase process doesn’t contain information about who the purchase was made for any more.

Can you let me add the notes during the purchase, and so they’re in the email as well as showing up at the download screen already? Thanks.

Separate question: How often do people end re-using old licenses for new sites?

Thank you SO much for this.  I’ve got 7 licenses and always get confused about which license belongs to who.

This is a very welcome improvement. Thanks Rick!

This is great!!  I’m with Kurt though, the ability to see which domain we tied to which license would be great, as an additional note or something. For me the issue isn’t re-use of license, but which license do I want to let expire. Some clients pay us to keep their license up-to-date, others don’t for now, I’ve just been keeping them all up to date, out of sheer laziness to go back and track down who’s who.

Just to echo everyone else’s sentiments on this:

Thanks for enhancing the download area, Rick - but while you were doing so, why didn’t you put in a field that stores the secret of the universe?

    😊

Thank you! I’ve been meaning to suggest this for a while, but I guess I’ve been too busy working to do that, haha.

Hmmm, how about just adding a simple text field in addition to the Notes? You don’t have to call it anything specific but it would at least show in the licences list an be available if needed?

I would love, if in addition to notes and all the other information, there would indeed be a separate field for the domain. Make this editable, but please make sure it shows up with all the other information without having to toggle. During the six months that I’ve been using EE I have bought 8 licenses and I’m willing to bet that it’ll more than double during the next six months. The domain name is more important for me than the license key when we’re talking about quickly looking up a certain license/download/receipt.

Thanks for the update its a real help. Like the majority of the posters here I have several licences and at times it can be very difficult to ensure that I have the right number for the amount of sites I have running. The MSM licensing really confused things as well! I allocate each licence to a live site and the notes field really has helped (although I assumed it was fully Ajaxified and filled in all the notes fields for each licence before hitting a save button - which only saved that one entry - had to redo all the others lol).

A very big thank you from me as well! Even with 5 licenses it was time consuming. Wolfram

PS. Thanks to your improvement I just learned that my very own license had expired. Is it possible that I didn´t receive any reminder?

Oh yeah, any plans for making the receipts UTF-8? Not a big deal, but my name’s not Timo Häkkinen, it’s Timo Häkkinen. 😉

PS - Did you remove the website field from the order form, or did I just miss it? I noticed the “notes” textarea, which is also part of the receipt email - sweet! - but that email also contains “Website: ” part, which is obviously empty now, hehe.
