Does anyone else ever feel like this?

The last couple of days, every site-related task I try to do seems like a massive ballache, and I put it on the backburner, only to do the same with the next task.

I’m jumping around from one thing to another achieving ***k all, and the more I think about it, the more I completely hate sitting at a computer. My day job tasks and my personal freelance tasks seem insurmountable, and I quite simply just can’t be ar5ed.

What can I do? Its all b*llocks.

Sounds like someone needs a holiday.

Usually when I get like this I either take a day or two off OR work on a fun personal project (dicking about with jQuery usually does it).

Something that has no deadline, review process, or bug fix requests .. always good 😉

When I feel like this it is usually because I am overwhelmed.

I find it best to take a step back from actually coding, review your current projects, and then set one big goal for the most important (or fun) of those projects.

Now - take that big goal and break it up into smaller, easier to understand goals.

For instance: my favorite project at the moment is my Datamapper ORM class. Some of the smaller goals I have are:
    - Finish the save() method and implement validation tomorrow.
    - Finish the database analysis, using the DBForge class, by Friday.
    - Write unit tests and ensure everything works correctly before release.

Thanks guys, its just one of those times, reading your replies has already helped me a great deal. I think its time to get organized and prioritize a few things.

And sorry for the moan, I was in a particularly deflated mood this morning 😊
