What are some good ways to backup your EE site in the case that an administrator accidentally deletes say a template group or an entire blog.  I’m assuming one approach is to backup the database every night?  Is there a “trash can” in EE to allow for retrieval of deleted items?

    thanks…

No, there is no “trash can”. Some operations explicitly tell you in red bold letters that they cannot be undone, too. Your best bet is, indeed, a regular backup, by either yourself or your host.
