I know about Akismet and it does a wonderful job on comments, but someone has been spamming daylights out of my golf site on the ratings for the course entries. I’m using the Rating module from Solspace and it has a moderation feature that doesn’t seem to be working and I can’t figure anything else out to combat this spammer. It’s seriously like 10 or spam ratings every 15 minutes and my only defense is to delete them manually and my nerves are wearing very thin.

    What else can I do?

This is somebody that you want on your site? If not, you can easily block their IP address in .htaccess. IPs can change, but you may only need to block them for a day or two. You could even serve them a special message in your 403 error page that says that they have been temporarily blocked for abusing the system.

Alternatively, you could check the IP address before loading the page. If it is this one, then don’t show the rating module.

I don’t use any ratings tool, so I don’t know if there might be something built in to handle this.
