Four Years of EE... Sheesh

I just realized that I have been using EE for about four years!  I was one of the original 1.0 contest winners who got a free copy.  I immediately made the switch from MoveableType and haven’t turned back.  It took me about a week to learn the coding/tag system (rudimentary compared to what we have now) and I have loved it ever since.  I reset my entire site last year and it was easy enough to re-establish my site on a new host, even from Iraq.

I watched the platform grow from a blog platform with a few extras to the most complete CMS I have found to date.  The staff has always been responsive and a lot of the growth has been due to their listening to their userbase.

Anyway,  I just thought I should post my thoughts somewhere when I realized how long I had been using EE, and now I realize just how long I have been blogging in the modern sense.. Sheesh!

    I am eagerly awaiting EE 2.0.  😊

Same here…if not even a bit reluctantly.  I had just done a major redesign Boyink.com on PmPro when EE came out… 😕

    Yeah,

Seems only the CEO is left from the old school boys:

    EllisLab CTO: June 03, 2002
    EngineHosting CTO: August 01, 2002
    Tech Support: 2004-05-15
    EllisLab System Evaluator: 2002-12-06
    Even DCS: 2004-05-14 (Lisa ... that somehow can’t be true 😊 )

It is time that the “oldies” take over the company 😉
    Join the revolution! 😊

Well I’m 34 so I guess that makes me older than a lot of people on here, even most of the development team from what I can see!

Unfortunately that doesn’t make me clever though  I’m still stuck at the level I’m at!!

    Best wishes,

    Mark
