Action from my IT team:
I’ve found only that mysql should be running in the strict mode, but there
are no words what mode should be configured to use mysql with Expression
Engine. I’ve commented out sql-mode variable from configuration file.

Sql mode now shows empty and all database queries pass in flying color. Thanks!

Thank your for your feedback. As Derek said, it’s a pretty esoteric configuration. Regarless, I am very glad the issue is solved. Are we ready to close this thread?

For the record, EE 1.x will not work in “strict” mode. Your current configuration (of no sql-mode being specified, and using MySQL’s default) matches 99.9% of what is encountered in professional web hosting environments who offer MySQL.
