I’m all onboard for doing this but until we get some official support from EE I don’t think we can get very far with out open API support to pull weblog information, config, etc.

It’s somewhat bad timing with EE-2 just around the corner (or hoping so). Could be a nice little kicker when EE-2 is released though.

Interesting news in that Wordpress has open sourced their Iphone application: http://iphone.trac.wordpress.org/browser today. Should be a good way to understand how they organized things.

That is cool, but I agree, an EE API would be most beneficial for something like this. No idea if that is even on the radar anymore.

They have functions all over the place. For example, we are doing some log-in synchronization with EE and WPMU 1.5 and to find a few cookie functions we have to find like 50 other functions which use 100 other variables all scattered over the place. :grrr:

An EE API for the Iphone would just be soooo great. And with EE 2.0 around the corner it would just be awsome and attract a lot more people to EE as well.

@grantmx,
fender21 mentioned the (Cocoa Objective-C) source code for the iPhone application, not the WP code itself.
😏

Yes! an EE iPhone app (like the wp one http://iphone.wordpress.org/) would be SOOOOO awesome! It would be a big selling points with clients also

I second that emotion. While waiting for EE, I put together a very quick SAEF which fits the iPhone screen perfectly.

FYI, we have just launched an add-on for ExpressionEngine that gives you a mobile interface for the ExpressionEngine Control Panel. If you login to you EE site on your phone it will take you to a fully functioning CP which looks like an iPhone app but it is web-based.

Venevo, I think all interested parties have seen it by now. There’s really no need to post it a dozen times.

Ingmar, that’s fair enough. I just thought people who are subscribed to the thread might be interested to know.
