Wordpress is known for its blogging capabilities to ping search engines and EE is probably considered a true CMS. However, does EE have similar capabilities as WP in regard to blogging?

I need a good CMS with built in blogging capabilities. While WP does all this it is cumbersome and too slow. And to tell you the truth EE is just plain nice to use!

Yes, of course EE can be used to power a blog. In fact, it started out that way: everything you could possibly need for a weblog is there.

Hmm, interesting. I have been interested in creating a weblogging solution, butwWhat about the restrictions in the license agreement?

The issue is “hosted weblogging” service here. You may not create a site similar to blogger.com, allowing new users to sign up and give everyone a blog of their own. That said, it’s perfectly fine to blog yourself, create a group weblog for family or friends, etc.

    Ah, that makes perfect sense!

I’ve been using it to blog since 2004. It’s very VERY powerful.

i prefer it much more than wordpress as it’s much more powerful. Using things like global variables makes things so much more efficient and easier.

Adding things like WYSIWYG editors and image upload/browse handlers have made it so my authors post stories with ease.

I also use the pages module, and there are places I use the direct MYSQL queries to display info,

    Definitely a great blog tool.
