This question may be related to a resolved thread.

I have the exact problem as the previous user, except, I am within license parameters… I have multiple sites set up for our company, but have a separate manager for each site.

If I limit access to only the site that I want them to access, they get the not authorized error.

I even tried the admin.php masking concept, but that doesn’t work either. When I login in, nothing happens. It just refreshes the login form.

I currently have 3 sites and the need to add 3 more, but I can’t have all the cross access. I just don’t trust all the users that much.

Would it be an acceptable workaround to have a usergroup for each site that had access to the other sites, but only the My Account tab?

You’d still be able to keep them from viewing other templates and entries.

I have been able to get that to work, and if that is my only option, then yes, but it doesn’t seem ideal to me.

I maybe am too picky… But am also try to dumb proof this as much as possible, and I’m sure I’ll get calls because they’ll forget that they have to choose their site.

So is this the only way?

For dumb proofing it, I’d make a page that takes them to a login page for their particular site. Make it a front end page in EE, and set a link to the CP they should be using.

That would be great, except that if I don’t give them access to all the cp’s they can’t login.

I tried to use the site.com/admin.php kb, and it doesn’t work, unless I give them access to all the sites.

What I mean is that you’d still allow them access to the other sites, but have a front end page to let them login to the correct site.

Part of it is a training issue.

How many editors/content persons are you going to let into the backend? Or would it be better to have a SAEF (Stand Alone Entry Form) with a Stand Alone Edit form?
