Does anyone know if it’s possible to, rather then just associating one date with a page, provide a date range instead? The pages in question are:

http://www.quantumtheatre.com/ and .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)

So each play runs through a start and end date. I know the client could just manually add that as text, but I have some other features that would be dynamic depending on what’s playing at a given time.

    Is this doable?

Unfortunately, every entry needs an entry_date, not a range. But: You can certainly use the expiration_date to good use here; I know I have. Makes sense? Moved to Howto.

Thanks Ingmar, that helps frame the problem better.

Is it possible using the initial date and the expiration_date to simply print those out to the page? So instead of doing anything dynamic with that info, I’d just like them to be able to use the date tab on the edit entry page to select when the play starts and stops, and show those values on the website - would that be doable?

Yes, of course. I used exactly that approach in a recent project, where appointments were handled that way. Just make sure you don’t forget to show both future and expired entries in your tags 😊

If it starts and ends on the same day, just a few hours apart, it might be easier to use a stand-alone entry form (SAEF) with a bit of Javascript instead of the regular control panel, though. I found a very nice jquery timepicker here.

Very cool, thank you! I’ll give this a try.
