EE has a handy data pruning feature buried away in Utils, which allows you to delete entries (or comments, trackbacks, topics etc) that are older than x days.

This would be super handy for a project I’m working on where a lot of news headlines are imported via FeedGrab, but can be deleted after a week/month or whatever so the DB doesn’t get totally bloated.

I’m not sure if this is possible, but has anyone got any tips on automating this via cron or any other method?

    Thanks 😊

    Hi Luke,

I wrote FeedGrab and have another plugin (somewhere) that deletes entries after a certain period. I’ll try and find it and tidy it up and post it. PM or email if I forget!

Hi Andrew, that would be fantastic if you could post it, thanks heaps!

Thanks for FeedGrab too, it’s really excellent, I’ll post the site which uses it in announcements when it launches 😊
