Hey guys, I’m quite a believer in things the average people call conspiracy theories, however this one even I find it hard to believe in.

Bell Canada and TELUS (formerly owned by Verizon) employees officially confirm that by 2012 ISP’s all over the globe will reduce Internet access to a TV-like subscription model, only offering access to a small standard amount of commercial sites and require extra fees for every other site you visit.

If this is not bs, I should really find a new occupation asap :D

if anyone knows if this is bs or not, plz comment 😊

I think the biggest hole in that idea is that you can use google or another search engine which makes it possible to go to another site. If you have a search engine and you can’t go to the sites that are found why would you use a search engine?

It started out as a campaign of a belgian non political politician, the woman you see in the beginning of the clip. She is from the Nee (No) political party who are against the current belgian political establishment. And she is specialized in stunt campaigns.

In how far it’s bs i don’t know but i think you can’t go from open to closed. In America i believe there are plans to auction a certain frequency to provide free wifi for everyone. If there is no content why would you want to have free wifi? Only for VOIP? Content is the bread and butter of the internet.

I heard about something like this the other day but it had no date attached. If ISP’s do start doing this then maybe there will open a new gap in the market for you to offer the old service, which could see many customers transferring to you.

Yep - that’s nothing more than a very shortened, and “omg the sky is falling” viewpoint, of a much bigger (and serious) issue: Net Neutrality.
