I want to create a Quote Of The Day/Week on my site, so I thought I’d create a new weblog for it.

Initially I created a weblog with one field, quote. But then when I went to add an entry, I noticed it was looking for a title as well.

Am I best just to use the title field? Or is that field unnecessary?

    Your advice is welcome.

    Thanks

Title and URL_Title are required. Title does have a length limit so it may not work for longer quotes. What I do for this kind of content is use the title as an identifier so I can find stuff in the edit area, I use custom fields for the quote and for the author. Title never gets displayed.

I’ve found that to be the best way, also. In situations like this I advise clients to give the title a meaningful name because it’ll probably be how they’ll find it later.
