    Hi

We are in the process of migrating some of our smaller sites to EE and they are simple content and can be cut and pasted content and templates.

But one of our big sites that needs more of a CMS (some content is editable in an admin but not on a per page basis just product admin). This site has too munch for us to do all in one go with our team size. So the question is does anyone have expreience or best practice for moving a site one section at a time and running both new and old non-moved sections live.
    http://www.cactuslanguage.com
i.e. we would move the /en/explore/... pages before we would move the /en/book/.. pages with course information.

    Thanks

Why not install EE in a folder like http://example.com/dev  you can get the whole thing done, start on writing all the 301 redirects so your SEO score isn’t killed when you move over.  When you’re done, change the appropriate paths down one folder (in /system/config.php) and the paths to the themes folder in the CP, put your old site in another folder as a backup, then move the ee site from the /dev folder to the root.

    Hope that helps,

Sounds a good plan Greg. Do you think moving with 301s moves enough search ranking as keeping trying to work it so the at urls stayed the same. I think 301s will be the best plan though we will not be making the who site again in one move.
