I know PHP reasonably well but nothing about codeigniter.  I have a single code hack in the current version of EE that is essential for a site to run as needed.  I’m wondering if those who are familiar with codeigniter could comment on how difficult it will be to replicate the hack under the EE 2.0 framework.  (It is a very small change—so I imagine the issue would be more knowing where to locate things within the new coding structure.)

Not having seen the hack or EE2 code, I don’t want to make any promises.  However, I’m pretty sure that if it was an easy change in the current version, it won’t be much more difficult with CI in the core.  Probably easier.

    Thanks for the reply.

I don’t mind giving the details, but I wasn’t sure if they were all that important.  The hard part is usually tracking down where the code change needs to be made, and I was just wondering if CI would have so much stuff abstracted (if that makes any sense) that you practically have to understand everything to touch anything!

CI is abstracted, so I bet you’ll need to spend some time…
