robots.txt and the system directory

    I’m just throwing this out for discussion.

    I’m debating whether or not to add my EE System directory to my robots.txt file. Of course, I don’t want it to be indexed, but there are no links to it on the site anyway.

    Am I creating a greater security risk by listing it in the robots.txt?

    Thoughts, comments and opinions are appreciated.

    I think you are, yes. As you say, there are no links to it. But even if there were, all they would see was the login form. By mentioning it in your robots.txt, however, it’s no longer secret, you might as well not rename it at all (which is fine, too.)
