Being a relative new user to ExpressionEngine, I’ve been seeking some resources on how about to learn the darn thing, but had some trouble finding some comprehensive websites for it. With that in mind, I thought it would be nice to have a post to just link to articles, and websites dedicated to learning ExpressionEngine.

I’m probably more technically declined than most of you here, as I only have a basic understanding of PHP and MySQL.. I don’t know OOP whatsoever. So hopefully this helps others (and even myself) with future learning.

You don’t have to know any PHP or SQL at all, unless you’re doing some serious modifications, so don’t worry about that.

EE needs you to know two things, xHTML and CSS for your design, layout and styling, and the tag/templating system so you can control how your content is displayed. Assuming you have a decent know how of xHTML/CSS the best thing you can do is set up a test site using the Core version and play, test, and experiment with tags and templates.
