Paul, what can I say.  You and I joined the pMachine community days apart that August so long ago.  Have really enjoyed IMing, and working with you on projects, and meeting in person a few times over the years, and looking forward to seeing what new things live brings you.  I am saddened on one hand to have a fellow CTO in arm moving on, but from the sound of it you have some plans for some grand new adventures around the corner too!

Derek,  Welcome to the CTO club!

Paul, best of fortune, and may your dreams turn into something you really like.  Said of experience 😉.

Derek, you’ve shown your sharp chops around here, and am sure you will be a good man in this job.  Congratulations on the new responsibility.

    Regards to both,
    Clive

Indeed a turning point, and I would expect nothing less than greatness. Perhaps we’ve become accustom? Paul, you’ve done an amazing job hell everyone has. I’m not the first and I won’t be the last to say it but a huge thanks to you and EllisLab.  Derek? Well you sure have a behemoth task ahead, to fill Pauls boots, but I have faith. Good luck to you in your new role!

Safe travels, Paul - I can actually remember you joining as the the point at which Rick was able to stop personally sending hacks and fixes in the wee hours of the morning to importunate pMachine users like myself.

Best wishes for the new role, Derek, and we’ll maybe cut you a break for 24 hours or so before expecting the screencast of the new CTO dance.

Rick - onward! (Who said riding a tiger can’t be fun?)

I’m proud to be one of the few people who got to see Paul at work as an insider.  I can affirm everything you think you know about him, hardworking, smart, wicked sense of humour - it was a privilege to work with you.

Derek Jones is perhaps the only person on the planet capable of stepping into this role and ensuring we don’t miss a beat - its a rare time in your life when someone you respect steps down, and someone you equally respect steps up.  Good things remain ahead for EllisLab!
