    Hi Guys,

I have been meaning to get around to using EE for quite sometime and have a project which I think could be prefect. There are however 2 areas that I need to make sure I can cover with EE before jumping in and going for it.

One is the requirement for an Image gallery which will allow me to create a few categories with thumbnails which when clicked utalise Lightbox.js and display a larger version. These can then be expanded upon by the eventual administrator. Possible? Thoughts - Suggestions?

The other is a requirement for registration in order to access the site. We need a registration that can be approved by the site administrator (accept/reject) which when accepted activates the account and allows the user to visit the full site and have access to a My Account page for changing details input when registering. Again Possible? Thoughts - Suggestions?

Many thanks in advance, look forward to using EE!

    1. Yes, this is possible in a number of ways. First, you’d create a separate weblog with custom fields for the gallery. You can upload images by creating a post. Then you’d just need to use a standard lightbox coupled with a template. If you want to get complicated, you could even create a custom XML template for integration with SlideshowPro. There might be other ways to do it, but this is how I would go about it.

    2. As far as I am aware, this is all possible with the Member Module. You would set page access by membership group in the templates, and administrators can check and allow membership in the Membership Preferences section of the control panel.
