Another question. When future members are created will they not have this problem? If it does repeat itself would running the script again fix that issue?

I made a test account to answer my own question. Making a new user doesn’t repeat the problem. This whole issue is probably due to converting a phpBB forums over to the EE forums that was being discussed in the post “Forum module: Discussion thread for converting PHPBB data”. If that is the case I’m alerting that thread to this one.

Glad I discovered this thread! I recently imported users/forum messages over from SMF to EE using the “smf_import.” While the importer worked quicker than doing it myself, there were several things left undone.
The problem referred to in this thread is one, plus I needed to change “group_id” in the “members” table as the utility didn’t make that change.
