With it being nice weather it seems interesting to brush up my regular php a bit. Give me CI and I can do pretty much anything, without my php is rather rusty 😊 I’m looking for a good book which focusses on more advanced php(5) and OOP and everything related. I’m not looking for a book which goes back to echo “hello world”, making an mysql connection I’d rather it skips the basics. Any suggestions?

Matt Zandstra wrote an earlier book on learning PHP in 24 Hours for Sams and has been coding in PHP for eons. If you do a web search, you should find numerous hits for articles he wrote on the web. A fine writer in my opinion.

i want to read an actual book though, i’ve gone and ordered the PHP 5 Objects, Patterns, and Practice and one from a local computerstore, it was almost half the price of amazon (.co.uk) which i found weird considering how its usually an expensive store in belgium
