I noticed the other day that there are pages and pages of spam member names in the Expression Engine forum member list, and I was just curious as to why the names have been left there (a lot of them are quite obviously spam).

We typically only have time (and reason) to take action on active spammers, so if a registered member has not spammed the forums, private messaging system, or email console, regardless of how silly their screen name is, they will not likely be noticed.  With nearly 55,000 registered members as of this posting, going through the list and trying to decide if a user is potentially a spammer or not isn’t a valuable use of any of our staff members time, and what one considers to be a ‘spam’ name could be quite subjective.

Fair enough, just curious. : )
