    Hi,

    It always worked ok but now the whole search result returns a blank page.
    I’ve figured out that it comes from a conditional statement inside the results tag.

    Can anybody help me why the search module crashes when a conditional statement is being used?

    regards Remco

    Hilnut, regular variables should not be quoted. Can you try:

    Let us know how it goes.

    It still crashes the search module when i use a {if}statement{/if}. It worked untill 3 days ago and did not change anything. I tried copying the original files for the module to the website and updated the template to the original but somehow it still crashes with {if}

    What version and build are you on? Also, if you did not change anything, perhaps your host did? Could you ask them? When you say “crash”, what is the resulting behavior?

    running version 1.6.2 I’m in controll of the server and did not change anything. The ‘crash’ is a blank page returning. Without an {if} statement between the results tag it displays fine. Other {if} tags in templates behave normal and give no problems.

    Hillnut, can you post the search template you are using? Your conditional looks fine to me. Generally, sites that work fine don’t stop working all of a sudden, unless there was some change, intentionally or unintentionally.

    Also, would it be possible to upgrade to the latest version? Just to make sure we are in fact talking about the same codebase.

    Ok, I will upgrade the software and then let you know if the behaviuor is still there.

    Thank you, I am not saying it will fix things, but at least it allows us to exclude a few possible culprits.
