    On another note:

How do we deal with the »Access denied. Blacklisted item found« issue in general?
That message is being displayed and keeps me from:

› posting the name here on the forums
› setting up emails(!!) within the enginehosting backend.
› and loads of other admin-stuff.

I mean, we are a regular client (we paid for hosting and ee license) and are blacklisted in your system???

That’s more than odd, isn’t it?

    best,
    marcus

Something in the username or email is triggering the blacklist.  The best way to get that squared is to email sales directly .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) directly and let them know what’s up.

The puzzling thing- I don’t see how you could sign up w/the info if it was blacklisted.  But drop them an email and they should be able to get you whitelisted.  I’ll also give them a ‘heads up’ on the thread in case the email doesn’t get through.

    Make sense?

And- have you had any luck with the upgrading yet?

ETA- and before I talk to the crew- can you try one more time pm’ing me.  The only thing you need to say it ‘testing’- want to make sure it wasn’t anything in the message triggering the error.  Let me know how that goes.

    robin,

    thanks for replying.

havn’t had time to upgrade yet.
    will let you know.

But drop them an email and they should be able to get you whitelisted.

    will do that, thanks.

    as for the blacklist:
    my client (it’s a woman) runs an » e s c o r t « service.
apparently that expression is blacklisted since
it’s a erotic-related business and some of them are responsible for spam …

we thought about contacting you before ordering enginehosting,
but then we hadn’t any problems at all while signing up with that domain.

seems we have had a bad start. hehe

    best,
    marcus

Ah- yep, that could do it.  Should be no problem to get you whitelisted, though.

The problem itself is very odd, though.  Wonder if you automatically downloaded EE’s blacklist- and have blacklisted yourself?  If that sounds possible could truncate the exp_blacklisted table via phpmyadmin- and double check it hasn’t been written to htaccess.

But- before you try it, I’d back that table up.  And let me know if it sounds possible.

Ah- you don’t download in the typical sense- but click a link in the blacklist cp.  Still- I’d think you’d remember it if you’d done it.  Though you can check the exp_blacklisted table to see if it has any content.  If not- nothing should be blacklisted on the site.

Oh- and do me a favor- see if you can send me a pm with nothing but ‘testing’ in it- want to make sure you’re really jamming up based on username/email as opposed to post content on this site.
