Hi, I have a site running EE 1.6.3 (Commercial License). I created a new member group called admin, as I would like some people to be able to do certain things, but not everything a super-admin can do. Whenever a admin updates a post, the status gets reset to closed. I’ve tried everything I could think of.

1. Check the weblogs for their status group.
2. Set the default status to “open”.
3. Remove the drop-down for status from the CP.
4. Delete “closed” status from DB.
5. Set the publish to only be able to use “open” in the CP classes.

None of these solved the problem. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do, right now I have to edit multiple entries and mark them as open for the status to update. Is there a way to make even closed items show up on the site?

Inovat, make sure there is actually a status group assigned to the weblog in question. By default there is none. This does not matter for Superadmins, but for other users is does.

And yes, you can certainly make closed entries appear on your site, just specifying the entry status in the tag ...

{exp:weblog:entries status="open|closed"}

... should work.

Yes, that worked. I went through and turned all of the status groups to None and then back to the correct status group, but also added the status attribute to the weblog:entities tag. I think someone else was adjusting settings and didn’t know what they were doing.
