Are there any coffee nuts out there? A couple of days ago I decided to lay off it, and apart from feeling almost comatose during the day yesterday, I had the BEST nights sleep I’ve had in a long time. You should try it.

I’ve found that Taylors do a decent Decaff called ‘Decaffe’, but I was wondering if anyone could recommend any other good brands. Most I’ve tried so far are akin to alcohol free beer 😊

Im no coffee nut - but I sure am a caffeine addict! Sugar free energy drinks all the way for me 😊

But on the topic of coffee I just have never taken a liking to the taste - would be good if I did like it as then I could have a nice warm drink in the winter time… oh well Ill just stick to boiling red bull when winter comes round.

I had a break from coffee about three months ago and went onto herbal tea. Slept much better. I had pretty bad headaches when I started thought whilst my body adjusted.

I’m back on it now though! Love it!

Yeah, my other poison is Tick Tock Rooibos tea, ‘Naturally Caffeine Free’.

Still on the lookout for a good decaff though, although perhaps real geeks prefer it ‘leaded’. 😝

As a bona fide coffee addict, I would recommend not starting to drink the stuff if you haven’t already.  If you do, be sure to give it (and all caffeine) up cold turkey for a week or two at least annually, and be aware if you regularly throw sugar into your hot beverages, you’ll probably outlive your teeth.  :ahhh:

Thankfully I can sleep soundly with or without caffeine, but late-day coffee is a bullet train to heartburn.  Gotta love getting older.  :blank:

As for decafs, just keep trying everything you find.  Real coffee junkies can taste a world of difference between roasts that seem identical to me, and your perfect cup of decaf is waiting for you to find it.

I love a cup, ney, a pot of coffee on a saturday. If I drink it I can get through loads.

But I like the Dragonfly Rooibus with Earl Grey Tea “Naturally Caffeine Free” during the weeks.

I love it. I spent a small fortune on a rancilio espresso machine and grinder, and I get through a ton of beans. ‘monsoon malabar’ is my current bean of choice, shlurp!

High-end addicts may wish to search on espresso and crema on boingboing.  Where else would you find a sea urchin to make your smackachino?

For home, I just pick a random dark roast from the fair trade subset of choices.  At work, I drink the free stuff augmented with chocolate soy.  The fair trade part at home helps me forget the wages/conditions of those farming the cocoa. 😖
