My objective is exactly the same knowledge base like EE’s, except contents, of course 😊

Set up many categories and write entries for each category?

Hi, Tiger - yes.  Our knowledge base is just a weblog with categories, each KB article is an entry in that weblog.  Pretty straightforward - the magic is in the templates. =)

    Lisa,

Is the EE User Guide a weblog? I ask because if it is, wouldn’t it be possible to create a PDF version with relative ease.

As far as I know it isn’t.  There is an html version you can download if you want to read it offline.

we use the wiki with posting privileges restricted and some heavy redesign, easy to add content while keeping a structure to the content and categories

I just started to build a KB today, I’m going the route of a weblog with many categories.  I’ll post my adventures here.
