If you do want them then just let me know if you want anything doing to them such as the flasks filled more for the different stages 😉
Best wishes,
Mark

Thinking there must be a “class clown” status in there somewhere… 😊
I can’t imagine who would qualify for that.

By the way, shouldn’t the speech bubbes under each member’s avatar be replaced by something more theme-related? What about Erlenmeyer flasks?
Absolutely great idea!! 😉
If anyone on the EE team wants one then I have created one and uploaded it to this post. If not then well it was fun making it!! 😉
Best wishes,
Mark
No takers then? Oh well I tried. I suppose it’s because they only took about 2 minutes to make. If I’d taken a bit more time over them then maybe they would be worthy of inclusion to the site?
Oh well, can’t win ‘em all!

The current “rank stars” were created by Jesse B.C. as part of our branding and support theme, and I’m not about to trump his design expertise by replacing those images. The flasks are cute though.

No problem. Did sound like a good idea at the time though what with the new names and everything. Oh well. Does Jesse still do updates to the site then Derek?
BTW. If anyone wants to use the flask image for anything then I am releasing it as a free download. Do with it as you will 😉
Best wishes,
Mark

No, we have not changed the design since our rebranding, so there’s been no need.

No problems. Just wondering if Jesse was still there in the background somewhere. He is a fantastic designer and I love seeing his work so was wondering if he was doing anything still on the site.
Offer still stands though if anyone wants the icon for anything and if anyone wants it in any different formats then just let me know. All done free. Gets me up on creating icons a bit more too! Never really done them before.
Best wishes,
Mark

“Research Assistant”? Hm.
#39 / Apr 15, 2008 7:25pm
But Joelle, you’re just 375 posts away from Lab Technician!

Wow, it’s been really long since I’ve visited these forums. I’m almost embarrassed! Anyway, just wondering what the labels mean, and how many posts to get to the next level. Cool, I’m a Lab Assistant! Playing with mercury is not advised. 😊

The new rankings kind of debuted in this thread.
Going from browsing the Member List (and clicking on members with likely-looking post counts), it appears you’ll make Research Assistant upon your 301st post.

Going to merge this with said thread. =)

This takes me back to my college days. Chem lab. I broke so many of those ehrlenmeyers, not to mention 3 thermometers, the TA thought it might be easier to just put a brick in my designated drawer and shake it around a bit.
Anyway, maybe this is a new post or addressed elsewhere:
I love setting new member ranks, but wonder if there is a way to set different ranks across the different forums I’m managing on MSM. On my city planning site I want members to go from tourist to resident alien to resident to citizen or some such. On the language site, I want people to go from beginner to master linguist or something like that. Another site has a religious theme and I want to take people from cherub to archangel.
Is there a way to do this, or should I just come up with something more generic that fits all my sites? Actually, your research assistant theme is really nice. The act of participating in forums is an educational-research-quest endeavor. We’re all just scientists of life, consulting each other. Can I use ee’s rankings?
Let me know! Thanks.

I think this would make for an excellent feature request, together with a stricter separation of stats on a per-board basis, eg, but currently there is no such feature. There is a single table in the db, exp_forum_ranks, and it does not distinguish between sites / boards.
