Did Mitchell do both of these sites?
How do you get nominated for a Webby then?
#3 / Apr 10, 2008 8:08pm
MyTerritory is done by Eric Miller. Mitchell was involved in ABA Journal but I don’t know what he actually did on it (perhaps he’ll chime in).
Mitchell knows Eric because they worked on BMI together (also powered by EE). At least I think that’s how they know each other lol.
I’m not sure how you get nominated for a Webby.

Thanks Leslie.
PS. Off topic but what happened to that SXSW blog post?
#5 / Apr 10, 2008 8:22pm
Yeah, we still owe the community that sxsw post. I’ll see if I can pull that together tomorrow morning.

Hey… thanks for the post Leslie. The Webby takes submissions (months ago) by category which are then reviewed by the judges.
Yes… we know each other from working on the BMI site.
Wish us luck! Voting ends May 1!

Truthdig (http://www.truthdig.com/) is another EE-powered that got a Webby nomination this week.
(Hop Studios maintains it.)

Congrats Travis! I’ll be sure to drop a vote for you too…

Congrats to Eric, Mitchell and anyone else who worked on those sites. Great news!!
Perhaps a link to the Webby Awards is needed? I know it’s very easy to find but I for one had never heard of them so just thought I would post it in case anyone else has had their head in the sand like I obviously have 😊
Actually to tell the truth I gave in with trying to get web-awards quite a few years back now as I remember that you could get loads of them and you had all these little badges all over the splash page (Ugggghh - Splash Pages!! 😉 ) which linked to all the awards. I might look back into them again now though as there are some really decent awards nowadays and much better ways of linking to them.
Anyway just wanted to congratulate all those involved.
Right I’m off to check out exactly what these Webby Awards are all about! 😉
Best wishes,
Mark

Doh! Missed that one. Sorry Travis. I’ll update the post to include it.

Thanks Mark… for voting it’s actually at pv.webbyawards.com (as in People’s Voice). Yeah, badges all over the place is very old school. The webby’s are one I’ve always followed so it was my submission for last year after I finished up the site 😊

Hi Eric,
Thanks for the link, will look into that some more later on.
Best wishes,
Mark
