Wow, I feel like the odd man out. Besides Mark and Rick I am the only person without a 2002 on my profile. Did the web even exist in 2002?

Hi John,
Yep the Internet existed WAY back to around 1969 if I’m not mistaken!! 😉
I know what you mean though. Gosh it makes me feel young!!! 😊
Best wishes,
Mark

Remember? Yep! I always took much inspiration from your work - and am still grateful for your permission to pretty much duplicate a site design for the church site that got me started here…
Gosh, I had completely forgotten about that.
😊
That was ages ago ...
And ... just to test if at least my memory skills are still somewhat reliable ... didn’t we all join before 2002 and got up’ed to that year when the database was, err, streamlined?
I distinctly recall having registered and used pMachine before 2002. When most people here weren’t even born yet. :coolcheese:
But then again, I also wake up at nights convinced that I just failed my maths exam in high school. It usually takes about 2 to 3 minutes to remember that I passed, studied forever ... and have been a teacher for 15 years. 😉
Cheers!

Pretty sure the 02 date is right for me - that was the year I got booted from corporate America and started my business.

Hm.
I knew about it in 2001 (just checked an old diary sort of file), so I guess Rick went public with it the latest around that time (Too lazy to check. Probably early/middle 2001. I know it says somewhere around here).
Then again, who cares? I would call myself a pretty early adopter although I remember a somewhat sizable community already (or one which was just taking off rapidly around that time).
It’s been a fun ride. pMachine and EE are certainly the two products I’ve stayed with longer than anything else, even when compared to the operating system(s) I use(d)!

If I recall correctly, when I did my first pM site there wasn’t a forum, you kind of communicated with Rick directly. And I don’t recall joining the forum right off the bat when it was available, was never a forum type of guy.

was never a forum type of guy.
And then one day, you went through a transformation. Perhaps you took a bump on the head. Maybe it was an accidental ingestion of mind altering substances. On that day, a new PX was born… and the forums have never been the same since.
Edit: RTFM, you can’t close a quote tag with a URL tag. Never have as far as I can remember.

For better or worse 😊

All of this makes me wish for a more elaborate pM/EE history somewhere. Just checked Rick’s profile and there is a bit of it on there (2001, thought so), but I guess the forum’s join date is, well, the forum’s join date
...
...
And my memory sucks. 😉

Why am I standing on a street corner in my robe and slippers?

Too bad, now that you’re about to join that elusive club of “Power Users”...
