Well the sentiment is still there 😉 😊 😉

I have never been able to get the hang of when I am looking at a forum as to whether the times that people have posted are set to what time I am in now or their time. Pretty stupid of me really I should probably go and check what I have set for time zone or whatever it is in the forum settings but I think it comes from the fact that when I was a kid I never went abroad as my parents just couldn’t afford it and so never really had any use for time zones.

    That’s my excuse anyway.

    Best wishes,

    Mark

Yes, it’s localized to your time if your preferences are setup accordingly. Also, I don’t think going abroad’s got much to do with your perception of timezones, most of Europe is one tz wheres the continental US have, what, 4? (Not going to check).

Luckily this is the Lounge, or we’d be OT pretty soon.

Probably not knowing me though!! Will check it out when I get the time (I know I know a terrible joke, wasn’t meant to be - honest!) 😉

    Good Morning! < - Smiley??? 😉

5 if you count Hawaii. Although a lot of states in the near west have gone away from Mountain Standard.

Isn’t this what the lounge is for? (sip sip)  😏

See, that’s why I said “continental US” 😛 Otherwise we’d have to include Alaska Time, too.

What do you mean, gone away? Where to, Pacific Time? Central?

    All I said, now, was 5 counting Hawaii… Don’t forget Hawaii… {or Alaska… :ohh: } No mention of continental…  😉

If we count territories, there’s even more. What’s weird are the places that are 30 minutes off (like Saudi Arabia, I think is one).

Pacific Time. Mountain time is kind’ve a dead-ringer for a lot of folks, so some states or areas have officially or unofficially switched to Pacific, where it’s simpler to keep track.

A few years ago, there was even talk of Mountain going away…  :zip:

Not Saudia Arabaia, actually, but India, Iran, Afghanistan and (being proud of it, too:) Venezuela. You only need to look to Newfoundland, though, or South Australia if you’re down under, who do the same thing. Nepal actually uses quarter-hour deviations…

I knew one of the territorries was being funky, but I admit I had to look up the details.

    EDIT: Cool picture.

Hmm from what I know it’s actually more like 9!! 😊

One unofficial and three official on the mainland plus four for its territories and one more for an Antarctic station not included in other time zones.

But must admit I had to look up that description too!! 😉

    Best wishes,

    Mark
