Hey, it’s Friday, a good pillow fight with Les to end the week could be kind of fun 😊
PS: I had a marketing minor in college, where’s my pillow?

As long as they aren’t feather pillows. Those make me sneeze.
Kidding aside, I actually meant customer service foot soldiers, of the sort that have very little real knowledge or authority, who really do nothing for the communication process aside from stonewalling you with the less-than-helpful canned responses that might as well have come from an auto-responder.

What if I want to throw out a request, but don’t want to give a story because the story would give away something “secret” I am working on? I’ve had that come up two or three times in the past. The features I request would be good for anyone, but the specific way I’d use it is something that I don’t necessarily want to make public. That’s when I have to list more generic uses than personal, unfortunately.

drusoicy, why not post your FR and reference that you just sent an email to sales or something? I’m sure EL deals with things like that all the time.

One thing that kind’ve annoys me is when code is posted and the code tags aren’t used.
Obviously, most developers and programmers would rather run through the street naked than forget this…
BUT new users sometimes don’t know to use it. :shut:
If the admins and mods could encourage using code wrappers when new users don’t use them (and maybe edit posts to demonstrate), I think that would be great.
It’s not a huge deal, but as far as the blog topic, I think it’s a fair request…
😊

Absolutely agree on this one but not sure how you would go about knowing what the person has typed goes with what tag, would probably need to be hand-edited. I always whenever I can put the whole code source and usually a link to the EE docs so that people can see where to go if they want to find out more. I have even become quite confused a few times when people post code and it doesn’t have the opening and closing tags and I class myself as a fairly advanced user.
Best wishes,
Mark

Good point about not knowing when to use it. Sometimes, though, I don’t think it’s too hard. Maybe I’ll put a note in my signature about it…

Well actually what I meant was that I don’t know how easy it would be to make a function in the forums that would automatically know what a person was typing if they missed out the opening tag and then add it in for them. Is this what you meant for the forums to be able to do?
I probably misunderstood though.
Best wishes,
Mark

That would be interesting - and possibly frustrating. I meant a moderated response. It’s not a big deal, though. As long as I made my point!
:coolhmm:
Thanks Mark,
Jared

Yep point made well although I think we may be talking about different parts of the post 😉
Best wishes,

We usually do, but in all honesty - it’s a low priority in comparison to actually helping the person posting, and can just add more confusion to the thread in some cases.

I know, I just had to complain about it. Seriously, I’ll probably just put it in my signature.

marketoid drones
Oh oh - Leslie, you gonna take that 😉
Heeee Heeee HeeeeHey, don’t get me into a fight with Leslie! His last name sounds like a martial art, I’m only named after the guy who used to play Dracula. 😛
I missed the end of the week pillow fight but I think Evil Spy is on the money. We don’t employ any “marketoid” drones. We have people who do sales and/or marketing tasks but nobody is a sales person or a marketing person in the traditional sense. That is a purposeful decision on our part.
