I just noticed I have been a member for over four years. This is longer than any other relationship I have ever had (I lead a sad life).
I started with pmachine. I loved it. Ran it on a G3 bubblegum iMac in my basement. It did everything I wanted it to.
Then EE came out, and I reluctantly upgraded, since I was happy with what I had. I also resented paying more cash.
It took me a while to convert my site over.
It took me longer to like EE as well as pmachine.
And it took me a hell of a lot longer to “get it.” Once I actually read boyink’s tutorial things started to fall into place. Well, more honestly, once I got to the part where he said he trashed the whole site I was set. I never understood EE default templates. Never got the CSS.
It never really dawned on my I could take a static site and make it dynamic. I have learned more in the last two months than in the previous 3 years. part of this is due to the fact that previous templates have meant my needs.
Anyway, way looking forward to 2.0.
