I just remembered a poll I posted last March about merging the CI and EE code bases—the results were pretty split.  It’s funny to look back and see that this was something in the plans all along.

Overall, it’s definitely a great move by EllisLab and should be very beneficial for both CI and EE going forward.

I haven’t been following these forums for a while (I’m Bad) due to other interest. Now I’ve returned and a lot of things have changed. I have licenses for EE and run my blog on EE. As a web developer I was also interested in CI. It seems that while I was gone they (EE & CI) became one of the same.

Does CI get installed into my EE or are they separate installs?
Where can I get info on how and if they work together?

This change will happen with the official release of EE 2.0.  At the moment there is no official date for the release, but it should be soon.
