Anyone plan on biting on the new IE8 beta 1 available now:

Check out the demo video’s there’s some surprises in the developer tools, that looked pretty good, when compared to FF dev tools.

Timed perfectly to coincide with the spring trade shows… sneaky.
Being able to force the different modes of IE5 (quirks), IE7, or IE8 have me leaning towards trying it.
The ability to test IE6 with my standalone setup sucks, no CSS hacks work like they normally would on the real IE6, p.o.s.

OK, so I had to try IE8, beings I didn’t have a version of Safari installed I had to try that too!
So I have IE8 beta 1, and Safari Win 3.0.4.
Guess which I’m using now? 😊

I had a light-bulb moment, of the dim type, when the forums here loaded with the support theme selected by default in Safari (oops I guess you know which I’m using now).
I completely forgot EE forums had themes, I’ld grown sort of tired of the default theme, the support theme seems cheerful compared to that.

The IE8 beta is missing some of the features, mainly I wanted to be able to jump back and forth between rendering modes for better debugging. Currently the beta 8.0.6001 will only go to IE7 rendering mode by restarting the browser, that’s kind of cumbersome for what I had in mind. Haven’t really played around with the Dev Tools, using FF for so long I take that stuff for granted in there, wouldn’t be without it.
