Hi there guys. For my blog I have a commenter who would like to unsubscribe from comment notification. Is there a way to do this? I believe he would just be considered a guest. I have the email address he used when he commented.

Michael, you can do this via a query:
update exp_comments set notify = 'n' where email = '[email protected]'Back up the table first.

Thanks. Seems easy enough. 😊
Looks like something that could be added to the weblog admin.
Would it also work if the user made another comment on the same blog post and then unchecked the follow up box?

This query will set notify to n for all comments made by that email address.

Thanks for the clarification. I believe he’ll be happy regardless. 😊
Any thoughts on the second question?
Would it also work if the user made another comment on the same blog post and then unchecked the follow up box?
Also, is there any way I could provide an unsubscribe button?

The query will only work for that single time you use it.
The other settings are in a cookie, so if he’d cookied in notify to be y, it would still come up that way.
When you receive a comment notification, you can choose to unsub from it.

Doh! Thanks for the further info. I’ll just have him do that. 😊
